Your infant may not be able to speak in a manner we readily understand but recent science has shown that their senses are busy learning all the time. It has been proven that when a child's senses are regularly stimulated the faster that child will develop.

Consider the sense of touch: a key element in an infant's contact with the world. Simple things like color, pattern, shape or texture - things adults ignore or take for granted - these same things speak volumes to a baby. Thus bold black and white shapes are the easiest for newborns to see and can strengthen visual acuity.
Fabrics with colorful prints featuring animals, flowers and geometric designs can not only add pizzazz to the décor but can improve recognition and learning and spur early development overall.
Sights, sounds, smells, texture -- all play an important role. It's key to remember that when you engage your child's many awakening senses, they will not only learn about the many differences in their new world, but will learn to enjoy them!
